dear liam,

happy belated birthday son! i know i'm almost a month late on this post and i can't believe you are three, that's a whole three fingers! i really really really hope you enjoyed your birthday party! it wasn't an easy task planning away for your special day, but it was well worth it!

daddy and i are really proud to be your parents! someone, somewhere, up above must really liked us to have blessed us with the greatest kid of all! you're so loving, caring, and have the best sense of humor. you can't imagine how much you fill us with joy and happiest and you're just three years old!

always remember in life, wherever you are, wherever you go, mommy and daddy love you to pieces! happy birthday my sweet little freebird!

local love

we loved supporting local designers last weekend at unique la. i stocked up on tons of cute tees for the little one and had fun with my girls at the same time. another successful weekend with great handmade buys!

auntie lee + liam

we miss auntie lee! liam's 3rd birthday just passed last sunday and it just wasn't the same without my sister here. during the last few birthdays, she has always made an effort to fly into california to celebrate with little liam, but this year, she just couldn't find the time. liam misses his auntie lee and i miss my big sister. maybe it's time to go to hawaii for a little visit again..

ps. thank you auntie lee for the care package/birthday gifts! liam loves his new record player, clothes, hat, etc., etc., etc.

i heart handmade everything

this weekend i went to the los angeles renegade craft fair and did a lot of thrifting! i adored & appreciated all the crafty goodies at the renegade craft fair! it was fun to sift through all the different things and i also found a few cute handmade goodies for my little freebird! i loved it and will definitely go again next year! definitely a successful weekend filled with handmade goods and vintage pieces! :)

to my little liam,

my sweet sweet baby boy, in just 1 month, you will be THREE! i have to constantly pinch myself and wonder how did time fly by so quickly. daddy and i are always trying to come up with different ways to capture your youth and make great memories with you, while you're small enough for us to carry but big enough for you to be the little independent boy that you are. we love every bit of you, from your cute, excited laughter to your heavy fistful of punches. you are becoming such a little manly boy!

right now, you have so many great interests, like baseball, oh baseball! you love playing catch with daddy on the front lawn and you love it when papa pitches the ball to you! you're always asking to watch baseball on tv and in the silence of it all, we find you mimicking every move the professionals make. for some reason, mommy is allowed to play baseball, because according to you, "baseball is only for boys", just like soccer, basketball, and football. apparently girls don't play sports in your eyes. your speech and vocabulary is excellent and growing every single day and yes, you do talk a lot! you learned how to spell your first and last name with great ease about 5 months ago and over 2 months ago, you picked up spelling "mom" and "dad", which made us oh, so proud! you've learned your colors and recently learned how to draw circles. oddly enough, you learned how to draw circles on the steamy shower glass door! it's so cute!

your food of choice at the moment is spaghetti. you could eat spaghetti every day if possible. as for breakfast, oatmeal or waffles are always your first choice! you are growing every day and i can barely believe how much taller you've gotten lately. you're as tall as my belly button right now! oh little liam, you amaze us and bring us so much happiness, especially when we aren't in the greatest moods. it just warms our heart when you come up to us and say, "don't get mad, get glad", what can we say, you've got mommy and daddy wrapped around your little finger! we love you to pieces and hope you will enjoy your big 3rd birthday party in exactly one month!

hello, autumn.. goodbye summer.. (or maybe not!)

it is late september, so why is it 113 degrees today? i thought summer was over but apparently not! the weather made me realize i didn't get a chance to recap on how our summer went. so if you're wondering, our summer was great! filled with frozen yogurt, evening walks, otterpops, hb street fairs, pool parties, disneyland, ice cold watermelon, beach days, the oc fair, and much much more!

toms>crocs

toms vs. crocs, mommy vs. baby.

if this is an inclination of how fashionably challenged my son will be, i'm worried! yesterday he tells me that his brand new tiny toms are too small and he wants the "big shoe"! "big shoe" meaning his bright orange crocs! i think it may be because the tiny toms are more narrow and the crocs are wider (more room to spread his toes?) but this was a clear case of, "mommy knows best".. so the toms definitely defeated the crocs in this round!

keep in mind, if it was daddy vs. baby, he would simply jump on team crocs like liam!

back to school

back to school shopping, the bitter sweet reminder that summer is almost over.. even though, liam isn't in school yet, i've used the "back to school" shopping as an excuse to buy new clothes and shoes for liam! sadly, it has only worked 2 out of the 3 times i have pitched the idea to andrew, he's one tough cookie when it comes to shopping! needless to say, i am definitely yearning to satisfy my "back to school" shopping itch and can hardly wait until i get to start the tradition of buying new school supplies, clothes, shoes, and a little backpack for my little free bird's 1st day of school!

pillow pets

we went from zero pillow pets to three in just one day! if you guys haven't heard yet, liam's been begging (literally begging) for one of these for months now. everytime the commerical comes on, his ears perk up and he runs to watch it, jumping up and down and begging, "pweeze, pweeze, pweeze!" so we couldn't resist but to spread the word when someone would ask us, "what should i get liam for his birthday?". to our surprise, we ended up with three of these things, 1 panda bear and 2 monkeys! one at home, one at ah-ma's, and one at the sitter's. it's a pillow, it's a pet, it's liam's new favorite thing!

summer time

we all know, nothing completes summer time like an ice cold slice of watermelon! well watermelons have become liam's new obsession! every birthday party or gathering we go to, he instantly spots out the "walermelon", constantly asks for more, and eats until his t-shirt is covered in watermelon juice!
